Cobra R price unmasked by BON today

BlueOvalNews has obtained more 2000 Cobra R documents from a secured source at Ford SVT.

All of these documents are the type that reader's of BlueOvalNews enjoy the most - JUICY INTERNAL MEMOS!

BlueOvalNews will start to release the 2000 Cobra R details starting today (10 August).

F.Y.I. > Ford has placed a news embargo on ALL Cobra R details until 01 November 1999.

The first release from the documents is a memo by both John Coletti and Tom Scarpello to Ford vice presidents Richard Parry-Jones, Neil Ressler and Bob Rewey detailing the 2000 Mustang Cobra R's pricing.

According to the document, Ford had intended to increase the 2000 Cobra R's price now set at $53,995 to $58,995; however, decided against it. The document states "The intended price of $53,995 represents a significant increase from the price of the last Cobra R (at $35,000). "

Another part of the same document states "The media has begun to speculate on the new Cobra R's pricing, and the estimates are uniformly lower than the actual intended price." It continues, "One of the hallmarks of SVT is value: any increase in price would prohibit fulfilling this."

One can expect to pay a MINIMUM of $53,995 for a 2000 Cobra R, although your selling dealer will most likely mark it up from there. Unlike previous Cobra R models, a license (scca, ect.) will not be required to purchase one.
